Form of work An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced student or recently qualified actuary to take the next step in their career with this international insurance business.
The pricing department takes a joined up approach, where you will have the opportunity to work across both insurance and reinsurance duties. Your focus will be North American property, both cat and non-cat lines.
Working closely with the Senior Property Actuary, you will be an integral part of a close-knit North American property team. Your duties will include working closely with underwriters on pricing models and methods as well as assessing aggregations, portfolio review and input into business planning. There will also be liaison with other teams such as reserving, cat modelling, capital modelling and finance.
There is the opportunity to be at the forefront of property business, advising and influencing pricing of large complex risks.
You must have P&C insurance experience and ideally a good understanding of property business. Experience with packages such as SQL, R and/or Python are useful.

The position will ideally be based in the New York office, however Atlanta and Chicago are also locations on offer.
