GSL Education is seeking a skilled Primary SEND Teacher for a role in a primary school in Tyne and Wear.
Job Summary:A Primary Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) teacher plays a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities within the primary school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of students with SEND.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and external professionals to provide comprehensive support.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independence.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and caregivers.
- Contribute to the wider school community through participation in staff meetings, training sessions, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting.
- A thorough understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn new strategies and techniques.
