Job description

About Us: Join their dynamic team as a primary Teacher, in a large and vibrant school dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs. With a student body of 73, they pride ourselves on fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. The school focuses on the national curriculum, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students, many of whom have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, and ADHD.

The Role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Primary Teacher to join our team. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education to our students, helping them achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children who express some challenging behaviour but also show immense potential for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum, adapted to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and ADHD.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes student well-being and academic progress.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support students in developing self-regulation and positive social interactions.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external professionals to create individualised education plans (IEPs) and ensure holistic support for each student.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly those with SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and ADHD.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and ability to adapt it to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative work environment with a dedicated team of professionals.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career progression.
  • Access to ongoing training and development in SEN education.
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
  • A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

How to Apply: If you are a compassionate and dedicated Primary teacher ready to take on a rewarding challenge, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV.
