Job description

Are you passionate about teaching? Do you want to make a difference to the outcomes of young people and experience the rewards of working closely with small groups of children?

At Kip McGrath, Hull North West (situated on Beverley Road, Hull), increasing numbers of students and parents seeking tuition, and the need for the Centre Director to have more time to manage the expanding business means that we are seeking to employ;

· A Primary teacher with QTS to tutor English and Maths at KS1 and KS2.

Job Details

We tutor children from ages 6-16 in English, maths and science in small groups of up to four. Most of our one-hour sessions run after school between 16.00 and 19.30, and on Saturday morning from 10.00 until 12.15. We also have an increasing number of students that are not accessing mainstream education who are supported at the centre with lessons during the day.

Tutors will plan effective and engaging sessions, tailored to meet the needs of each individual, and use their skill and experience to identify and address misconceptions, and help students progress to their learning goals. They will make use of the plethora of educational resources provided by the centre, as well as their own expertise to build student confidence and help them to “catch up and keep up.”

Tutors may be required to provide tuition online using our efficient and easy to use portal.

We will only consider applications from teachers with QTS and at least one year of teaching experience. This is the model that all Kip McGrath centres use to ensure that students are getting tuition from fully trained educators.

Successful applicants will need to provide two references and pass an Enhanced DBS with barring check.
