Dudley Zoo & Castle, a leading Black Country visitor attraction, is looking to recruit a Primate Team Leader to join our enthusiastic team.
You will join our dedicated team of keepers who are responsible for delivering animal welfare to a high standard.
The role is to head one of our primate sections caring for species such as Bornean orangutans, yellow breasted capuchins and our popular one-acre walkthrough Lemur Wood, which is home to black & white ruffed, ring-tailed and collared lemurs. This varied role also includes working with other species including two-toed sloths and bats.
The ideal candidate will need to be able to manage, develop and motivate an enthusiastic team of primate keepers and have relevant primate experience working in a zoo setting. Ideally, you should have a good understanding of breeding programmes, conservation and the wellbeing off all primates from great apes to pygmy marmosets.
You must be an excellent communicator with a good working knowledge of Health and Safety and be able to implement policies and procedures would be preferable.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated with an enthusiastic and positive approach to the animal welfare and conservation aims of Dudley Zoo & Castle.
This role is a full-time permanent position. The role is five-day week including weekends and Bank Holidays. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
