Our client is a successful and growing engineering consultancy who work with both public and private sector clients. Their multi-disciplinary design experience covers an impressive project portfolio which ranges in value to over £100m. They are aware that their staff are the core of their success, which means they retain staff and offer generous rewards.
Their office in Billericay is looking to strengthen the team by appointing a Principal Civil Engineer to act as project owner and undertake the role of technical lead, ensuring successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects.
About you:
- At least 5 years’ experience at senior level within a UK consultancy;
- Degree in civil or structural engineering;
- Chartered engineer;
- Extensive experience in roads and drainage design schemes using relevant software;
- Able to manage and direct junior members of staff and mentor graduate engineers;
- Develop team spirit and collaborative behaviour;
- Able to identify and foster future project opportunities;
- Experience in preparing design calculations, bid proposals, reports and other project documentation.
As well as being technically astute you should have exceptional communication skills, as a large part of the role will be to attend meetings, visit sites, carry out investigations and check project work. This will involve liaising with internal and external teams and other professional disciplines.
