The role of the Principal Designer is pivotal, requiring a solid grasp of the pre-construction phase plan in sectors such as Residential, Commercial, and Retail. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in a relatively junior team, presenting an excellent chance for someone passionate about the industry to mentor and enhance the skills of their colleagues. As the Principal Designer, readiness to travel across the North is essential, as the projects span a wide geographical area.
The Principal Designer's Responsibilities:
- Crafting the pre-construction phase plan.
- Conducting Construction Site Safety inspections.
- Assisting duty holders in developing pre-construction information.
- Utilising expertise in Health & Safety and CDM to ensure compliance with CDM regulations.
Principal Designer Requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Health & Safety qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a CDM role, such as Principal Designer or CDM Advisor.
- Proficient knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
- A keen and enthusiastic approach with a commitment to learning and professional development.
- A strong understanding of the pre-construction phase.
