Public sector organisation seeks experienced Lawyer to join their in-house legal team.

As Principal Lawyer you will take the strategic lead on legal matters related to complex Transport Projects and play a crucial role in ensuring their efficient implementation and delivery.

The position will see you joining a well regarded team, enjoying high levels of autonomy and having a positive impact on the region. It is offered on a hybrid working basis and offers a salary of £55,103 - £63,528 per annum dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the provision of legal advice and support for complex Transport Projects
• Support in the implementation and delivery of major transport and other schemes
• Shape, lead, and manage the legal support function for complex Transport Projects
• Provide proactive, comprehensive legal advice, ensuring statutory compliance
• Prepare and present training to elected members and officers on relevant developments in Transport Projects.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister or full CILEX (Fellowship).
• Extensive post-qualification experience, ideally in a public sector organization
• Strong commercial/corporate experience with a background in major projects
• Legal expertise related to infrastructure and Transport Projects (desirable)
