Team – Vitality For Business - IT
Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days or 14 hours per week in the any of the Vitality Offices (Stockport, London or Bournemouth). Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

What this role is all about:
Our Software Engineers play a critical role in Vitality’s successful business model by building and maintaining software solutions, in line with quality and time parameters. This will enable operation as a fully integrated composite business, offering brilliant products with seamless, intuitive customer journeys.
Key Actions
- Implement the software development life cycle: build, maintain, test, deliver, release and document user-friendly and customer centric software solutions, as required
- Deliver to standards: Understand, adhere to and apply Vitality’s defined technical and process standards to ensure the effective management of risks and the protection of Vitality’s data
- Provide integrated solutions: ensure solutions are user-focused, strategically aligned and effectively integrated across multiple teams and platforms to ensure the business needs are met
- Engage stakeholders. Collaborate, work with and develop an understanding of the needs and requirements of both internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve the desired outcomes
- Build and transfer skills and knowledge. Take responsibility for developing personal skills and expertise aligned to role
- Collaborate within and across teams. Work effectively with others across varying areas of expertise to achieve the required results
Essential Skills needed to fulfil this role:
- Proven work experience in a Software Engineering setting
- Advanced knowledge of multiple programming languages, specifically including .Net, Javascript (React.js, Angular.js)
- Experience with a range of modern web application frameworks and integration technologies
- Full stack development experience including web, services (microservices) and databases.
- Analytical skills to interpret complex relationships and data sets.
- Strong problem-solving skills in line with the seniority of this role
- Leadership skills to both influence (indirect) and direct the technical activities of Engineers and provide effective coaching and training
- Should be evidently a subject matter expert in two of the following Software Engineering specialisms: Engineering standards and Practises; User Experience; Analysis and Design; Performance; DevOps and CI/CD tooling
