Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary professional to lead the development of our Analytics Platform. As the Head of Analytics Platform Development, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our analytics capabilities, ensuring the reliability of our current platform, and spearheading the design and development of the next-generation Analytics Platform. You will work closely with business users, the Head of Analytics and Reporting, and other stakeholders to drive innovation and support the firm's analytics strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with Business Users:
Collaborate with business users to ensure that the platform meets business needs and to identify enhancement opportunities.
Improve Platform Reliability:
Ensure the stability and reliability of the existing Analytics Platform.
Implement best practices for maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Design and Oversee Next-Gen Platform Development:
Develop a strategic vision for the next-generation Analytics Platform.
Lead the design, architecture, and development efforts, ensuring scalability, flexibility, reliability and security.
Evaluate Tools and Conduct Prototypes:
Research and evaluate new tools and technologies to analytics capabilities.
Conduct prototypes and proof-of-concept projects to identify the most efficient and effective implementation paths. Make data-driven decisions on tool selection and technology adoption.
Collaborate with Head of Analytics and Reporting:
Work closely with the Head of Analytics and Reporting to align technical capabilities with the firm's analytics strategy.
Foster Entrepreneurial Thinking and Decision-Making:
Exercise entrepreneurial thinking and decision-making to deliver capabilities that democratize access to data. Empower tech-savvy users to self-serve their analytics needs, fostering a culture of innovation and agility within the organisation.
Preferred experience and qualifications
- Proven experience in leading the development of Analytics Platforms or similar large-scale data systems.
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry, particularly in asset management.
- Experience with data analytics, big data technologies, and cloud platforms.
- Proficient in programming languages and tools commonly used in analytics (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Spark).
- Strong understanding of the SDLC, and of the tools and processes that facilitate it.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
- Effective communication skills, capable of liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and data governance in the financial industry.
