We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our Data and Analytics team. This pivotal role will focus on the management of our talented staff, the oversight of multiple parallel projects, tracking of progress, and the enablement of our team to achieve their highest potential. You will play a critical role in communicating the value of the data we maintain and the data services we offer, ensuring these resources are understood and utilised across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers and analysts to support the company’s objectives.
- Manage and oversee multiple parallel data projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Develop and implement data management policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of data.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the Data and Analytics team.
- Work closely with other departments to understand their data needs and provide strategic data solutions that drive business value.
- Communicate effectively the capabilities, progress, and value of data projects and services to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ensure the team has the tools, resources, and support they need to perform effectively.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data management and Analytics to drive innovation within the team.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to track team performance and the impact of data initiatives on the business.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, ethical behaviour, and a passion for Data and Analytics.
Person Specification
- Experience in data engineering or analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams and projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, data architecture, and data modelling techniques.
- Experience with cloud-based data technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
- Demonstrates a commitment to developing others and a growth mindset, actively pursuing continuous profession and personal development.
- The ability foster and inclusive working environment
- As this is a global role, international travel may be required.
- Language skills, other than English, are desirable.
