For the right candidate we would consider offering this post part time or compressed hours. Homeworking arrangements would be available. The successful candidate will also gain access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Home Working Consideration
Applications for homeworking or hybrid working will be considered for this post, subject to a trial period and in accordance with East Lothian Council’s Home Working and Worksmart Policies which can be found here. Home or Hybrid working options can be discussed with candidates invited for interview. All applicants must live in the UK and will be expected to attend Council offices from time to time as required.
To provide comprehensive legal advice and assistance to the Council in a wide range of statutory Local Authority functions and to line manage the Commercial and Property Solicitors within the Legal Team.

Relevant Qualifications
Degree in Scots Law and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice or equivalent.
Admitted as a solicitor by the Law Society of Scotland.
Hold Practicing Certificate as a solicitor issued by the Law Society of Scotland.
