Principal Welding Engineer (Water Engineering) – Marine / Defence
Devonport – Hybrid working.
Rate – Up to �100p/h (Outside IR35)
Contract length – 26-52 weeks
About the role:
Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with a Large UK defence client to recruit a Principal Welding Engineer on a 26–52-week contract for its Devonport site. As the Principal Welding Engineer, you’ll be required to Manage the release and maintenance of Welding Engineering team policies and procedure documents.
The Principal Welding Engineer role comes with rate of between �75p/h - �100p/h (DOE).
Key skills:
* Provide Subject Matter Expertise on welding and joining to meet the business needs.
* Lead the purchase of new welding equipment which supports the WPS and welding processes.
* Approve new welding consumables.
* Lead the research and develop of new welding processes for DRDL in accordance with customer’s requirements and efficiencies.
* Lead Engineering Critical Assessments to support any boats for the customer and wider business projects.
* Lead the health and safety culture within the team facilitating appropriate training and awareness across all welding and joining activities.
* Sign off labour bookings/give hours to projects.
* Hold a Master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline
* Be a Chartered Engineer – Desirable
Location, remuneration and timeframe of the PMO Manager role:
* Based in Devonport – hybrid working.
* Role is Outside IR35 and is paying up to �100p/h (DOE)
* Role required SC/DV security Clerance.
* Will be a 26–52-week contract.
