We're working in partnership with a West Midlands University to assist them in their search for new staff within their print department.

They are currently looking for someone with knowledge of print estimation to work alongside their busy print production team. The role is varied, you'll be responsible for dealing with initial external client enquiries, providing estimates, producing job bags and working closely with the production department to ensure a swift and timely fulfilment of the clients requirements.

This role would suit someone who has worked as an "all-rounder" in a smaller business, who is looking to move on to working within a larger operation in a more specific role. Having knowledge of print production, pre-press artworking and client liaison are all highly advantageous as there may be aspects of all of these involved in the role, based on workload.

This is a full time permanent position, working Monday to Friday 08:30am – 4:45pm

The RoleUse the MIS to prepare accurate and detailed estimations for basic jobs in a timely manner ensuring accurate commentary is recorded regarding non-compliance, production issues or cost variance.
Cross check all print specifications for accuracy against the customer brief and make sure that the most cost and time effective print production and distribution method is utilised, ensuring quality is maintained throughout the process.
Liaise with external suppliers ensuring accuracy, quality standards; delivery schedules and value for money are achieved in all dealings with 3rd party suppliers.
Work closely with the Account Management Team to ensure a responsive and pro-active service is maintained where all the service level agreements are met.
Work closely with the production department to ensure goods are completed in a timely, efficient manner up to the required standard
Working closely with preferred distribution suppliers (DHL/Royal Mail) to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.

The CandidateProven practical experience in a similar role within the print industry - either as a Print Estimator, or printer operator with an understanding of pricing work with client management skills
Good working level knowledge of MIS systems used within print, with a good standard of IT skills overall using Microsoft Office software
Excellent communicator - someone who is easy going, friendly and personable but can easily generate and build professional relationships
Excellent organisational skills who can multi-task and think on their feet
Self motivated, enthusiastic and happy to work both in a team on or on their own inititive

Salary + BenefitsSalary starts at £25,800 to £27,500 based on experience.
