Job description

Summary

On a day to day basis, maintain and evolve the regulated mortgage proposition on behalf of the Managing Director, Banking.  The successful candidate will act as subject matter expert in all aspects of Regulated Lending (including CCA and Investment Backed Lending) whilst being the primary point of contact in the business for technical support, insight and expertise.

Support the Head of Regulated Lending in all technical matters.

Oversee the Bank’s procedures and lending policies to ensure compliance with current regulatory requirements.

  • Where applicable, to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and
  • to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the evolution of the proposition in connection with regulatory, IT system and market changes.
  • Identify horizon risks for regulated mortgages that will impact AL and/or clients, and work with other stakeholders to analyse the impact, propose  policy and procedures changes and communicate these effectively (e.g. Consumer Duty)
  • Responsible for owning the guidance, process and procedures for RMCs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for all Regulated Lending.
  • Undertake first line of defense testing.
  • Articulate the Bank’s lending policy and appetite, both internally and externally.
  • Support the Regulated Mortgage team to ensure the team target is met and exceeded.
  • Work with the Private Banking Team to ensure the clients receive an optimum experience.
  • Work with the Private Banking Team to support retention of Regulated Lending business
  • Promote the Private Banking Team to internal and external stakeholders, particularly Credit Risk and Credit Operations.

Compliance/Risk :

  • Complete required benchmark qualifications, adhering to both legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Accountable for managing the risks detailed in the department’s RCSA on day to day basis.

Knowledge / Experience/Skills:

  • Detailed and demonstrable technical knowledge and experience of regulated mortgage lending and a good understanding of all lending.
  • Private banking experience and a successful background in working with Private Clients within our stated criteria.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements covering money laundering and criminal activity.
  • You should hold a valid professional qualification in CeMAP (or similar)
  • Strong interest in financial markets
  • Knowledge of banking products and wealth management products
  • Multi-tasking capability
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • A good understanding of Banking Systems and IT literate, with a high understanding of Microsoft office
