As a Private Practice Consultant Psychiatrist with The Priory Group, you'll have the unique opportunity to control your work time and earning potential, which may be part or full time, working in addition to your primary employment, or simply expanding your current Private Practice.

The Opportunity:
We seek to invite experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to join our team, with the chance to build and manage a Private Practice offering both inpatient support and outpatient services at our sites. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards of care and providing expert guidance to our dedicated staff.
We currently have a range of Independent Practice opportunities across our sites in the South West UK and are happy to discuss your and availability to practice.
As a self-employed practitioner, you'll have the freedom to structure your clinic according to your unique vision and schedule.
Your earning potential will vary based on your availability, and also the service you partner with, but you would be provided a referral fee for therapies and a bed night fee for patients under your care in inpatient wards, in addition to facilities and administrative support team to enable you to prioritise your patients' needs while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Role Responsibilities
This will vary based on the Service, the location and your availability, but typically can include the following;
- Oversee the care of inpatients within your specialty.
- Complete short ward round at least twice per week to support your inpatients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists and psychologists in regular meetings.
- Assess and treat a diverse outpatient population.
- Engage in quality improvement and governance activities.
- Expand your practice in alignment with your hospital's prestigious reputation.
- Participation in on-call rotations.
- Network with professional colleagues and referral sources.
- Market yourself and your practice in conjunction with Priory, registering with private medical insurers and providing information for our website.
- Maintain professional development and meet Revalidation requirements.

Candidate Profile:
- GMC registration with relevant specialist registration.
- Experience in substance misuse or general psychiatry
- A strong understanding of Clinical Governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Successful completion of a DBS check, funded by your hospital.
