An excellent opportunity has arisen in Bedfordshire for an Environmental Health Officer / Private Sector Housing Officer to focus on supporting the delivery of proactive and reactive measures to improve standards and compliance.
Main Duties:
- To effectively implement and deliver the reactive and planned workload in relation to Private Sector Housing, public protection and Pollution including Statutory Nuisance, within the Community Regulation team. To provide professional advice, in line with appropriate competencies, to local stakeholders and other directorate service areas. To protect and improve the health, safety and well-being of consumers, residents and workers within the Borough at work, at home and at leisure.
Essential:
- Must have a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health. Must have significant experience and detailed understanding of the underlying concepts and principles of Private Sector Housing, public protection and Pollution including Statutory Nuisance. Must have significant experience in preparing legal notices and undertaking formal action such as works in default to ensure legal compliance.
NB - a driving licence is essential to this role as you’ll need to travel around the district.
