Job description

The Prizes Director at the Royal Anniversary Trust will lead on and manage the effective delivery of the biennial Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education on behalf of the Trust, to the highest standards as appropriate for an award which is part of the national honours system and is granted by His Majesty The King on the advice of the Prime Minister.
  When Prize-winners have been approved, the Prizes Director manages and delivers three high-status events to announce, celebrate and award the Prizes to circa twenty winning Universities and Colleges.

In the months between this celebration and the launch of the next prizes round, the Prizes Director gives feedback to non-winners, reviews and improves the prizes processes and engages with Universities and Colleges through visits, conferences and online events, in order to encourage applications for the next round.

Throughout the biennial prizes process, the Prizes Director works to support the CEO in the evolution and delivery of the long-term strategic vision for the Trust including the Prizes and other Trust activities; they support in the management and development of the Trust staff team generally with specific line management responsibilities for one member of staff: the Operations Co-ordinator.

The Prizes Director acts an ambassador for the Trust in all dealings, prepared occasionally to deputise for the CEO as required.
