Process Support Officer

We have a fixed term Process Support Officer role available within The Road Policing Team at Essex Police. This role is ideal for someone with strong data entry skills and considers themselves to be physically fit, a strong communicator and IT literate.

Role: Process Support Officer (Road Policing)

Location: Essex police Camera Enforcement Office, High St, Billericay, CM12 (100% office based)

Rate: £12.95ph

Contract length: 6 months initially

Shift Patterns: (Flexible with option to start at 07:00) Mon-Thu 08:00-16:00 and Fri 08:00-15:30, 37 hours per week

Start: Dependent upon the passing of Police vetting checks (1-2 months)

What a day looks like in the Process Support team:

• Mail room duties: opening post (2 hours), processing post. (half-full day, this duty requires the need to be standing for long periods of time)
• Printing offence tickets on industrial printers (full training provided) 4-5 hours a day
• Scanning and tagging incoming post (3-4 hours)
• Inputting high volumes of data onto the internal system
• Running checks on personal details via the DVLA system
• Any other ad-hoc duties that fall to the Process Support team as directed by management

Essential requirements:

• A minimum of Grade C (or equivalent) in GCSE English and Maths
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience within a Data Entry role
• Strong IT skills especially with MS Office and using a computer
• Previous experience in an administrative role (1 year)

Desirable requirements:

• Previous experience within a Mail room/Mail room operations
• Knowledge of The Police and more specifically the Road Policing Department
