We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our award winning social housing organisation in the Procurement Team. The Procurement Administrative Officer will support the Procurement Team in delivering procurement advice across the organisation. Working closely with the Senior Procurement Officer and Contracts Manager, the role holder will support the coordination of procurement activities undertaken within Salix, whilst meeting the professional requirements of the individual business areas, Salix Homes procurement strategy and procedures. This role will be suitable for somebody wanting to start a career in Procurement.
The role - What I’ll be doing
- Provide first level procurement advice.
- Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of performance value, delivery schedules and product quality.
- To comply and develop robust procedures for all procurement activities in Salix Homes and to inform future procurement requirements.
- Provide procurement support to colleagues on all aspects of procurement including sourcing options, contract specifications, forms of contract, tender packaging, pricing strategies and contract negotiation.
What we’re looking for
- Self-motivated.
- Strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience of working in Procurement or Social Housing is desirable.
