My client based in Thame is looking for a Procurement Administrator, to work within the Supply Chain Sales team. You will be responsible for managing various aspects of the procurement process, ensuring that all purchases are made in the correct manner/time to ensure that the function is providing the highest achievable service and delivery performance.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- To ensure that the customers are kept fully informed of the status in relation to their orders/products
- To work closely in a collaborative way with all internal departments to ensure that the highest level of customer service is achieved both internally and externally
- Assist and respond to enquiries relating to availability and pricing of product etc
- Create and maintain a database of all current/past suppliers covering goods/services/pricing/performance etc
- Liaise with suppliers about expected delivery dates and ensure orders are kept up to date with accurate information
Skills:
- Previous experience in general administration within a busy office environment
- Purchasing experience is desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills
- A keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in IT tools such as Word and Excel. Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is a plus
- A focused and organised approach, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines
- An understanding of continuous improvement practises
