NHS Shared Business Services are seeking an expert procurement professional to join their Business Services team, if you have experience in category management then this role will offer you at a national level an opportunity to support in crafting the market place for our clients.
You will lead a delegated category portfolio to implement strategic sourcing and strong collaborator management, lower costs to deliver savings targets, and strengthen existing relationships with key suppliers. You’ll enjoy a challenge developing specific strategic sourcing programmes/ strategies across our client base and will own the delivery of a number of projects within key markets.
With your track record, skills and determination, you’ll deliver a highly professional and adaptable client service approach and act as the main point of contact. This is a hybrid working role with the requirement to attend monthly meet ups in Salford.
What you will be doing:
- Leading on the development of the annual work plan and implementing policy, contributing to short and long-term category strategies.
- Identifying new areas for contracting and work with partners.
- Delivering a portfolio of projects as agreed with NHS Shared Business Services client partners, meeting expectations and timelines.
- Improving contract compliance and undertakes procurement activities in accordance with current public procurement legislation plus environmental and sustainability requirements.
- Supervising and supporting supplier performance across the category area.
- Deliver tender solutions that allow cost optimisation and support customer savings targets.
- Taking the lead across a project portfolio as advised, building knowledge and expertise to become a subject matter expert.
What you will bring:
- Procurement experience within the public sector and/or category management
- Experience in supplier relationship and contract management.
- Established customer service and influencing skills.
It would be great if you had:
- Knowledge of Business Services / In-direct spend.
- CIPS level 4 or working towards
