Procurement Category Manager

The Company

You will join an exciting Foodservice business who have achieved and continue to enjoy significant growth.

The Role

You will be responsible for implementing the procurement strategy of your category to deliver tangible results for the organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the supply base, negotiating competitive pricing, monitoring KPI’s and ensuring adherence to contractual terms. Key duties include-

• Identifying procurement opportunities to increase business effectiveness, efficiency, productivity and reduce cost.
• Manage product cost on behalf of client stakeholders putting in place cost mitigation strategies where appropriate.
• Liaise with actively managed suppliers undertaking quarterly scorecards with key suppliers.
• Sourcing new products and services as required, putting in place contractual terms which can be used by the sales team to extend the current business base.
• Write and review contractual terms to ensure maximum commercial benefit to the organisational and its clients.
• Scoping and defining purchasing projects

What you’ll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record within Food Purchasing, this could be for Foodservice, Food Manufacturing or Food Retail. Alongside this career background you will be able to demonstrate the following skill set-

• Analytical, numerical and fact based approach
• Influencing skills and commercial negotiation
• Strategic sourcing knowledge
• Good contract and supplier management skills
• High-energy, enthusiastic self-starter capable of autonomous working
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and relationship/team building skills.
• Strong Excel knowledge
