You will
- Deputise for the Procurement Director in the M3 Joint Venture
- Support the development of Procurement and Contracts strategies for Work Packages with specialist Procurement Managers, Work Package Manager and Work Package team.
- Lead a team of Senior Procurement Managers through the Development phase until FID for respective Offshore Wind projects.
- Compliance with laws and regulations as appropriate for procurement, specifically, ABC & Anti-Competition and Human Slavery legislation as it applies to procurement.
- Identify potential opportunities for Local Content (UK) spend, and other supply chain initiatives in areas such as circularity, sustainability, innovation and low carbon.
- Prepare/review/approve invitations to tenders (ITTs) using project templates and standards, to place demand into the market.
- Review/approve evaluation processes of tender submissions based on agreed evaluation criteria.
- Lead/support the negotiation of contracts based on the standard project contract templates supported by legal.
- Prepare/review/approve Recommendations to Award to document and obtain the necessary approvals prior to making contract commitments.
- Support Work Package Managers and Work Package teams to raise requisitions in RITA Purchase to Pay system.
- Update the Procurement Status Report, to track progress of ITTs and maintain project schedules and reporting.
- Ensure HSE requirements are included in contracts and promote contractor safety management in third party execution activities.
- Post Award Contract Management and Contract Administration to ensure compliance with contract terms, managing claims and variations.
- Review and approve invoices to ensure compliance to commercial terms of contracts.
- Overall optimization between the projects of the programme including identification and delivery of contract synergies.
- Knowledge transfer and best practice sharing across the programme and between the joint venture and the shareholder organizations.
- Escalating any problems which cannot be solved in the work package to the Procurement Director as appropriate.
- Participate in verification and assurance process for their work package, supporting projects reviews and shareholder assurance.
- Contract placement and invoice approval as defined by DoFA & POA’s.
- Approval of strategies, RFPs, contracts, change requests, contract amendments, claims and variations within agreed DOFA and POA.
- General EnBW Generation UK Ltd procurement as may be required.
Convincing profile
- A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in procurement, supply chain, engineering, industrial engineering, or similar.
- A candidate who can excel in an intercultural and cross-functional environment.
- Initiative and the ability to work effectively in a team are your strengths.
- Ability to lead by example and to create a team spirit within the project.
- Engaging and effective presentation abilities.
- Fluency in Business English. German is a plus.

- You demonstrate the flexibility and willingness to travel incl. Germany within the scope of the job.
- You are passionate about offshore projects.

- Keen interest in large-scale wind offshore projects and willingness to learn (existing knowledge and/or experience is an advantage).
- You are a very confident user of MS Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, O365, Visio) and SharePoint.
- You truly enjoy taking on a wide range of project tasks and creativity that comes with it.
- Willingness to familiarise oneself with new tasks at short notice.
Job specific requirements
- Experience or a good understanding of large-scale energy projects in the Offshore Wind industry. A background in oil & gas is welcomed.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management or project development, preferably for large infrastructure, manufacturing, or energy projects, including renewable energy projects;
- Understanding of the complexities of Offshore Wind project development, its components, and the associated supply chain;
- Understanding of the Scottish, UK and international Offshore Wind market and supply chains;
- Knowledge of supply chain contract management fundamentals, best practices, and industry trends;
- Experience with stakeholder management, tendering, negotiation, etc.;
- Understanding of cost drivers on contracts and ability to demonstrate transparency and overall value;
- Previous experience in procurement and market competitive analysis;
- Strong communication and negotiation skills;
- Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills;
- Genuine passion for developing Low Carbon renewable solutions;
- Strong procurement experience in supplier identification, qualification, and sourcing/contracting;
- Commercial mindset, analytical skills, and confident negotiator with all levels of stakeholders.
About the department
This is a role in the UK Offshore Wind M3 Programme Procurement Team. The Programme will deliver almost 6GW of renewable power through the development of three Offshore Wind farms in the UK: Mona, Morgan and Morven (M3). Each project is a 50:50 Joint Venture between bp and EnBW.
Underpinning the M3 programme is significant investment, and procurement is the forefront of managing this spend with suppliers, building relationships with the market, and delivering competitive outcomes with the business.
This role will:
- Lead the strategy and implementation of project level Supply Chain Plans and/or the Sustainable Industry Rewards (subject to UK Government policy changes) for all M3 projects.
- Manage, support the Scottish Supply Chain Lead to deliver Morven’s Supply Chain Development Statement Commitments and Ambitions for Scotland.
