Working in association with a privately-owned property investment company owning a unique portfolio of freehold office, residential, hotel, retail and leisure properties based in Canary Wharf, our client seeks a purchasing / procurement manager to join the team. In summary, the role will be to work with the property managers and maintenance teams with regards to their procurement needs and maintain / manage stock holdings.

Reporting directly to the Head of Maintenance, this role will give the successful candidate exposure to a variety of duties, and to work with key stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities
- Procuring materials as required, taking into account stock levels, project timelines. Proactively identifying and addressing any potential overruns.
- Raising purchase orders, tracking orders, updating Maintenance Team with ETA.
- Issuing required materials to maintenance teams, allocating costs to the job on the system for accurate financial tracking.
- Build a relationship with existing suppliers, sourcing new suppliers, secure/negotiate better credit terms and pricing.
- Resolve any supplier issues and discrepancies in a timely manner to minimise disruptions to operations and maintain smooth supply flows.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as maintenance/admin/accounts team to streamline processes and ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Conduct quarterly stock takes to maintain accurate inventory/stock records and identify any discrepancies for resolution.
- Organising Stock / Storage Rooms, ensure adherence to safety and stock management standards.
- Organising and issuing of tools to the Maintenance Team, ensuring availability of necessary equipment for routine tasks and projects.
- Implementing/improving processes and procedures related to stock/inventory management.
- Compiling weekly reports on stock/inventory level, procurement activities, any discrepancies encountered
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Stock Controller or in a similar role.
- Good understanding of procurement processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiar with maintenance and construction materials.
- Working knowledge of stock/inventory management software.
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Excellent organisation skills and time management.
- Good communication and negotiation abilities
- A positive can-do attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints and remain motivated and positive.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
