Procurement Specialist

Newton Aycliffe

£40-45k per annum DOE

Jackson Hogg Procurement division are delighted to bring to the market an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join an innovative and rapidly growing manufacturing business in Newton Aycliffe. 

This is a full time and permanent role based onsite offering £(phone number removed) per annum DOE with some highly competitive benefits. The role is 37 hours per week and flexibility can be offered with working times between 08:00-16:00 and 09:00-17:00 depending on preference.

The Role:

  • Responsible for management of NPD Purchasing related products and Packaging.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Develop New Products with suppliers
  • Performance management of New Suppliers
  • Manage supplier relations and negotiation to develop high performing sustainable partnerships, delivering Best Value.
  • Be extremely analytical and data driven in decision making
  • Prepare benchmark data, supply market intelligence and supplier scoping
  • Build upon Third Party Manufacturing structure inline with product portfolio.
  • Drive Product innovation through Supplier Management

The Person/Specification:

  • 5+ years' experience in procurement
  • Knowledge and understanding of SAP

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of Excel and other MS systems, particularly related to interpreting and presenting data in the form of KPIs.

  • Strong planning, organising and problem-solving skills

  • Working understanding and management of SLA’s

  • The ability to make informed decisions and communicate clearly with personnel at all levels, both within and outside the organisation whilst demonstrating a sound knowledge of the procurement process.

  • Self-starter and proactive behaviour while being in line with the DOA and other processes
