Our client is an IT support business for both Medium and Large Businesses throughout the UK.
Part of the IT support also involves buying on behalf of other companies, IT Equipment. Because the company purchases on behalf of lots of companies they secure larger discounts and save their clients more money.
We are seeking someone for the position of Procurement Officer/Buyer who will work in a small team of three people.
The company will consider anyone who has no experience in Procurement/Purchasing or Buying but those with some experience will have a distinct advantage.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized and methodical in their approach. At times the job can be fast-paced (imagine a company needs to replace laptops because they were stolen and need to get some tomorrow for their staff) but other times the pace is more steady.
Ideally, you will have an interest in IT Technology but you will not be asked to advise the client on what they need. A full spec will be given to you and your job is to find the best price from just three suppliers in the business.
The company needs someone good with numbers and can talk to clients and manage their expectations on the delivery of goods and services.
There are no targets involved in this role.

Organised
Can work under pressure when required
Numerical ( must have a minimum of GCSE C in maths)
Has an Interest In IT
Comfortable talking/negotiating with suppliers
Comfortable speaking to clients to manage their expectations
