Job Description


Hybrid Working

This role is based in our East Finchley office working 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.

The Opportunity
In this exciting opportunity you will be accountable for the smooth and frequent technology deployment and testing of a range of our restaurant and digital platforms. You will be deploying and testing the latest and greatest product features and releases to ensure restaurant and platform stability.

What will my accountabilities be?

  • Activation of new product features and local deployments in coordination with the environment officer on an effective test/piloting plan through to national
  • Working with suppliers, vendors and software analysts on sequencing, deployment and success of local product releases and updates, upgrades, and patches to our restaurant estate.activation.
  • Work closely with our segment, global colleagues and suppliers re latest status and content of planned releases.
  • Attend and/or lead relevant multi-functional team meetings and input as required.
  • Accountable for communication with restaurants about the status and timing of planned deployments.
  • Accountable for stability of deployments working closely with the product owners, quality team and suppliers on ensuring correct level of quality is achieved ahead of deployment commencing.
  • Works with the environment officer on risk management ensuring stable deployment activity up to a national level.
  • Working with the innovation and adoption team to ensure new features are fit for the market and are easily adopted by crew, customers and franchisees.
  • Working with Quality & Deployment Lead to prioritise testing backlog in line with product feature roadmap.
  • Work with the platform deployment teams on feeding back any issues and defects around product feature activation and local deployments.

What Team will I be a part?

You will work as part of the Deployment & Testing team which forms part of the wider Technology team for the UK&I and Global business. We are a high energy team, looking for an individual who can add their talent and personality to make us even better. This role will be supported by two analysts and one project manager per new product feature.

Who are my customers?

Customers of this role will include:

  • Our Franchisees and restaurant teams
  • Global Technology colleagues in other McDonald’s markets and those working in global and segment functions.
  • Our supplier partners
  • Work closely with Asset & Configuration team to ensure restaurants are configured correctly pre-deployment.
  • Work closely with Innovation and Adoption team to ensure deployment knowledge is transferred and restaurants are ready to adopt the change as well as any new backlog items which must be prioritised for deployment.
  • Working with internal functions such as Marketing, Restaurant Solutions Group (Operations), Supply Chain etc.

Qualifications


An individual who understands the importance of building relationships across the business, with excellent curiosity, communication and influencing skills will do well in this role. An attention to detail, an analytical approach, and the ability to quickly identify the root cause of issues will be critical to success in the role.

An individual fulfilling this role will be passionate about and demonstrate success in:

  • Previous deployment experience required with a sound understanding of product or software deployment and lifecycle.
  • Proven success record in achieving regular stable releases of product features or software across a diverse estate.
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
  • Experience in project management and ways of working (Agile or Waterfall)
  • Computer Literate - Sophisticated Excel, Word PowerPoint, Jira & Confluence desired.
  • Comfort and experience working in a fast paced and changing working environment
  • Experience in identifying and using external best practice to deliver best in class deployment solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and curiosity to explore new ways of working.
  • Display leadership behaviours and characteristics and a desire to develop self
  • Experience and an ability to think outside of the box to tackle problems supporting a more frequent and smoother deployment process
  • Seeking opportunities for continual improvement.
