Role: Learning Support Assistant
Start: June
Location: Stockport
Salary: 18,000 to £22,000 per annum
Hours: Full time: Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 4:00pm

About the school:
Simply Education is currently working in partnership with an alternative provision providing bespoke learning opportunities for young people aged 11-16 with Autism with associated social and communication needs, trauma and attachment. The classes are small with around 5 students at any time; the school focuses on changing students’ mindset and giving their students the tools to be successful in their future.
The role:
The school is currently looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1.1 basis with pupils displaying challenging behaviour. The ideal Learning Support Assistant can engage well with pupils and has strong skills in de-escalating and supporting challenging behaviour. Students in this provision need to feel encouraged and supported when facing challenges in their learning so the right candidate must be a real advocate for supporting students to reach their full potential.
Due to the nature of the role, the School is looking for somebody who has previously worked in a School and has relevant experience working with vulnerable children with SEN needs. The ideal candidate would be able to commit to a full-time role Monday - Friday 8:30am till 4:00pm as students receiving consistency is vital. A full clean driving license and access to own transport is essential due to the location of the School.
Requirements:
- GCSE in Maths and English graded C and above
- A good understanding of behaviour management and how to implement this into your practice.
- Experience working with children with additional needs

Key responsibilities:
- Building nurturing and meaningful relationships with pupils with SEND
- Be comfortable working with small groups to support pupils with their learning.
- Experience and a good understanding of behaviour management and how to implement this into your practice
- Supporting with individualized student programs.
- Great personality who can engage with children
- Understand the different requirements of individual SEN and adapt accordingly
- A passion for education and for making a difference in education
- Additional skills such as Sport, Music and Art are a bonus
