This is a great opportunity to join a wonderful branded company producing inspirational food products for discerning consumers. As part of a larger multinational food group they are passionate about good quality products with high nutritional value, and they are looking for a switched on Product Developer to support their team in providing a world class service for their customers.
Please note this is a 12-month contract with hybrid working available.
The Role
This multi-faceted role will give you the chance to whet your creative appetite for innovation, whilst flexing your project management muscles, bringing about improvement and excellence with food products. As a talented Product Developer you will work with internal teams to ensure your new products correspond with the commercial, technical and functional aspects of the brief at all stages of the critical path; you’ll use your natural creativity, initiative and amazing organisational skills to manage developmental design for innovative and on-trend products that match customer demands but are also a commercial success.
You will be able to investigate the feasibility of your food ideas and create the food briefs working closely with the marketing team making sure standards are met and are in line with food regulations. You will liaise, and at times visit key European suppliers to manage quality performance, attend trials and ensure key milestones are met. You will also test and evaluate raw materials with suppliers, ensure shelf life and scale up trials are conducted and endeavour to achieve continuous improvement of products and processes.
Some of the products in your category will be heavily influenced by their nutritional qualities, so a real interest in nutrition, health and well-being is key.
The Person
We are looking for highly ambitious individuals who are natural communicators, able to confidently and comfortably liaise at all levels to implement strategy whilst leading and promoting creativity. You must be able to work as part of a project team, be able to succinctly articulate your ideas and influence those around you. Exemplary presentation skills and up to date knowledge on consumer trends is essential.
Ideally you will have a degree in Food Nutrition or related subject. You will have previous experience within a high-risk, fast paced FMCG food environment where you have worked with suppliers and gained invaluable knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes. You will also be inventive and proactive in your approach to development with proven commercial awareness as well as consumer and quality focus. Experience of working for a leading brand would be great but not essential.
