Main Duties

Section 1 Purpose of the Role

Field Grey is an established business specialising in the design of bespoke uniform solutions for well-known high-end clients. We’re looking for a Product Developer Administrator to support our Production Manager and Product Developer in the development and delivery of our products & services.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

General Overview

 

·      Assisting the PM and PD in executing the production process in a timely manner for all products and issuing factories with accurate and clear information

·      Raising POs for raw materials and Off the Peg Products

  • Chasing samples
  • Tracking parcels and arranging couriers
  • Liaise with our logistics providers to find the most competitive rates and alongside the PM administer export paperwork including commercial invoices
  • Booking in & tag samples into studio
  • Manage trim stocks
  • Day to day communication with suppliers
  • Archive and check quality references, keep various library’s tidy with Product Developer and Design team
  • With Design team prepping and steaming salesman samples and booking in and out of studio
  • With PD coordinate and review and initiate fabric testing
  •  Assisting the PM and PD to communicate with factories to ensure minimum lead times are met and quality standards adhered to
  • Demonstrate a good grasp of specs, (Particularly BOM/Sizing & QC) garment construction and knowledge of factory process
  • In conjunction with the PM and PD giving clear instructions to the factories
  • Adhering to the critical path with the Production Manager & team from initial concepts through to bulk
  • Liaise on fit meetings and take notes, many meetings are client facing due to the nature of our business
  • Trend analysis

Skills and Experience Required

About You

 

You must have formal design training and be eager to apply this to a commercial environment.

This is an entry level role but candidates must have 6- 12 months experience within the industry

 

·      Demonstrable and proven experience in garment design and production

·      Degree in relevant subject preferred

·      Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

·      Ability to multi-task, prioritise projects and work at pace within a fast-paced environment

·      Good multi-product knowledge

·      Passionate about garments and quality control

·      Fantastic interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships quickly and teamwork

  • Advanced level user of relevant adobe software including In-design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong interest in the value of design and garment construction, particularly applied to everyday practical problems
  • Excellent verbal and written English
