We are currently searching for a skilled Product Development Engineer to join a prominent manufacturer specialising in PVC products for the building and construction sector. As a family-owned business with a rich 40-year history, they operate from a spacious production facility in Antrim. This role presents a unique opportunity for you to gain first-class guidance and mentorship with the opportunity to grow into a senior role.
Your new role
As a Product Development Engineer, you'll become an integral part of our clients' dynamic and talented engineering team. From concept to production, you'll work on diverse and challenging projects. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing composite products and solutions, such as PVC extrusion profiles, injection-moulded components, aluminium extrusion profiles, and fabricated components/test structures. Additionally, you'll conduct in-house product testing, assist with quality investigations, create product documentation, devise factory layout plans, and even produce 3D prototypes.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field
- Proficiency in CAD software, including 3D modelling using SolidWorks and 2D design using AutoCAD
- Familiarity with 3D printing technology
- Experience in a high-volume production environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
