Our client is a designer, manufacturer, and supplier luxury hardware for exclusive residential construction projects across the globe. They service contractors, architects and interior designers involved in luxury and super-prime properties and developments.
Due to their ongoing growth, they are now looking for a Product & Process Development Engineer to join their team.
Product Engineer - Position Overview
- Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Assisted Engineering (CAE) technologies to produce drawings and diagrams of initial product concepts and ideas.
- Work with the marketing concept design team to finalise new and special product designs.
- Ensure all designs meet technical, legal & safety requirements.
- Produce prototypes when required for customer appraisal.
- Find and eliminate design flaws in product designs by testing and analysing product prototypes.
- Maintain the new, current and end of life product information database.
- Create and maintain product process and shipping BOMs.
- Determine the best materials and processes to produce products in terms of design, functionality and cost and quality
- Support initial manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure successful production of products including their quality, functionality, cost-effectiveness, and process efficiency.
- Provide technical support to the organisation, suppliers and customers as may be required
- Continuous improvement of product and processes through ongoing research and development
Product Engineer - Position Requirements
- Product Design, Process Design, Industrial Design/Engineering or related qualification
- Similar experience in a related Engineering / Manufacturing industry
- Advanced use of CAD & SolidWorks
- Ironmongery knowledge advantageous
- Creative thinking
- Interpersonal communication
- Problem-solving skills
- Mathematical skills.
- Proficiency with prototype software
- Deep understanding of the design techniques and manufacturing processes to convert to designs to physical product.
Product Engineer - Position Remuneration
- Salary £45k - £50k doe
- Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm Mon - Fri
- Possibility of hybrid working
- 20 days holiday + bank
