About tiney
We’re building a platform that enables people to open and run their own home-based childcare businesses, allowing passionate early years educators to focus more energy on the children, enjoy doing what they love, and spend less time on the complex business admin and compliance that comes with the job.
We launched in early 2020, have raised Series A funding from top European investors. We're at an exciting stage of growth — we have over 900 registered childcare providers in England and we're processing over £20M per annum of childcare payments through our platform. We believe we have a truly sustainable business model with real revenues and a clear path to profitability.
We have global ambitions and believe that the key to our success will be exceptional technical and product execution. Our vision is to make the entire customer experience of choosing and buying childcare, and managing a childcare business, to be as seamless, joyful and safe as modern digital consumers have come to expect.
Childcare is a famously hard sector to crack, but at tiney we believe our unique team, business model and regulatory/market conditions make us the ideal candidates to have an unprecedented impact. Now's an amazing time to join us on this journey.
The role
We're in search of a seasoned, data-driven Product Manager with a focus on impact to join us at tiney and assist in scaling our operations. As a key member of our product team, you'll collaborate on setting goals, crafting strategy, and ensuring exceptional childcare experiences for our customers. Specifically, you’ll help us work on our family of products that support the Quality Assurance of tiney childminders, and the operational aspects of supporting our tiney field staff.
Your Responsibilities
Within our product team, you'll closely collaborate with our Chief Product Officer and Chief Technical Officer to validate, iterate, and execute our Product Roadmap. This involves:
- Identifying user needs and pain points, leading to innovative solutions and taking ownership of specific features or customer journeys.
- Drafting effective product requirements to help our wider team of designers and engineers understand clear user stories and business requirements
- Guiding features from hypothesis to prototype and beyond, collaborating within a flat team of designers and engineers.
- Aligning with our business objectives by facilitating product delivery, resolving dependencies across departments, engaging stakeholders, and effectively communicating new features to our customers.
- Championing a data-driven mindset in our product development team and helping set measurable KPIs for feature releases
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Lead the end-to-end product development process, from ideation to launch and beyond.
- Conduct market research, user interviews, and data analysis to identify user needs and market opportunities.
- Prioritise features and enhancements based on business goals, user feedback, and market trends.
- Work closely with engineering, design, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
- Continuously monitor product performance and iterate based on user feedback and data insights.
- Act as the voice of the customer, advocating for their needs and ensuring a seamless user experience.
Beyond the Day-to-Day
At tiney, we value giving you insight into life at our company and how this role differs from others. There's no such thing as a 'typical week,' and here's a glimpse into what you might experience:
- Engaging with our exceptional tiney home leaders during their training sessions.
- Participating in mandatory training sessions on child-minding and safeguarding to enhance your own skills.
- Contributing to our broader product roadmap or customer experience strategy within our cross-functional squads.
- Collaborating with our friendly and talented tech and early years professionals, unique to a startup in London.
- Shadowing our field team as they visit childminders for quality assurance and registration visits

Our commitment to diversity
A child who wants to learn doesn't care about gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, or any of the other things that sometimes divide, and neither do we. We hire people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes us stronger and gives us all a better chance of unlocking the potential of every child.
