Job description

We are looking to recruit Assistant Team Leaders for our Night Shift Pastry production and Packing teams! The majority of the working hours for the shift fall into an enhanced rate of at least £16.25 per hour. Depending on the role, you can expect a representative £586 to £603 weekly gross income! Furthermore, our pay bandings will be reviewed again in April 2024. If successful, a company induction day (09:00 to 15:30) will be required attendance the week before joining.

Sunday Night to Thursday Night (Pastry - 22:00 to 06:30 and Packing - 23:00-07:30)
Enhanced rate paid for hours worked between 8pm and 6am and for hours over 37.5 per week. Basic rate pay starts from £13.00 per hour. Any hours worked on a Sunday paid at £17.29 per hour.

You will be responsible for supporting your Team Leader in supervising, motivating, and developing your small team to meet production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules; providing cover in their absence. This is a hands-on role which means you will need to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in to production tasks to support your team. Full training is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To carry out production tasks as directed by the Team Leader:
  • To assist the Team Leader in their duties as directed, covering absence and breaks, including, but not limited to: maintaining plan; co-ordination of breaks; recording KPI figures.
  • To support new and existing team members in the performance of their roles, following the Training systems and procedures.
  • To ensure complete compliance to prescribed quality management systems and best practice processes (including the ‘clean as you go’ policy).
  • To maintain a high level of personal hygiene standards.
  • To ensure continuous production is maintained where possible and set targets are met.
  • To operate machinery and equipment (subject to training) in a safe manner.
  • To participate in the set-up, maintenance and shut down of production lines and procedures.
  • To report issues that may arise with the production line/area.
  • To contribute towards continuous improvement activities.
  • As requested, to undertake projects or activities not specifically outlined.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Knowledge of production processes and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
  • Demonstrates behaviours that support the Company values – Quality, Passion, Customer First, Honest, Friendly
