Location: Huddersfield

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 (DOE)

XCL Group are currently recruiting for our client based in Huddersfield, who are looking for a Production Controller.

Have you worked in manufacturing leading a Production team and do you have strong leadership skills? This role is essential for supporting the Production team’s high level of quality and productivity whilst managing time efficiencies. You will be based out in the middle of production looking after our skilled and non-skilled, permanent and temporary production operatives. With a primary role to boost productivity and help them hit productivity targets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage Health & Safety standards, as well as security within the workspace
• Induction of new staff members, and reporting of absenteeism/holidays etc
• Must have had previous experience in a manufacturing environment and similar position
• Driving productivity whilst maintaining quality standards
• Reporting of staff performance, productivity, downtime & Absence concerns
• Distribution of work to the teams, based on quality/skillset/ progression and development needs of individuals
• Effectively communicate the expectations to the team regarding deadlines etc.
• Carry out personal reviews on Technicians
• Identify training needs to improve the technicians skills
• Resolve problems throughout the production process, making sure it impacts efficiency as little as possible
• Converse on deliveries, priorities and overdue order issues etc with the Production Control Manager
• Supervise lean manufacturing/5S standards & methods throughout Production areas
• Manage Health & Safety standards, as well as security within the workspace

• Scheduling Productivity Performance
• 5S Standards
• Cost of Sales (COS)
• Downtime Performance
• Sales Order Overdue (SOD)

Skills/Attributes:

• IT Literate
• Organised approach to work, with string time management skills
• Efficient at communicating, both written & verbally
• Ability to effectively solve problems and being confident in making decisions
• Previous experience within a similar role
• Experience with conducting staff appraisals
• Previously worked within a manufacturing environment – (essential)

Hours:

5 day working week (38 hours)

Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.26pm (20 minute lunch break)

Additional hours may be needed to fulfil certain job responsibilities

Profit related pay if applicable; only issued to team members who fulfil the minimum performance standards each month
