Job description
As a Production Engineer you will be responsible for providing Production Engineering support for all commissioned plant and equipment as well as identifying continuous improvement opportunities within our Cleat production facility in Cramlington.
What you’ll be doing
Assist operators to problem solve manufacturing / production issues on all commissioned plant and equipment
Use data sources to identify continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing /production processes
Ensure New Engineering Orders (NEO’s) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) are completed in a timely manner
Review and updated (where necessary) production supporting documentation i.e. SOPs, Risk Assessments, WPSs (Weld Procedure Specifications), operator training documentation, production work instructions etc
Design, develop and manufacture tooling and jigs for all processes to aid efficient production
Ensure Routings, Product Structures, Set / Run times, and unit lengths etc. are constantly updated where required
Flat pattern/bent part development for ease of manufacturing using Solidworks
Complete pre high volume production development work of new products to confirm design and ensure correct tooling is available and recorded
Using press brake and laser, manufacture sheet metal components as required. Choosing correct tooling as would be suitable for material type and thickness. Working with component designer to find bending and welding solutions for prototype parts
Conduct offline programming of Trumpf Flatbed Laser & Press Brakes using Tru-tops Boost software
Work with the Technical department to simplify manufacturing processes where possible
Who we are looking for
To apply, we ask that you have previous experience of working in an engineering environment, hold a minimum HNC/HND level in Mechanical Engineering or have extensive experience of working with sheet metal fabrication principles i.e. flat patterns, bending and bend allowances.
We also ask that you have experience to set and operate laser and press brakes, CAD experience is also essential ideally 3D and preferably Solidworks. We are looking for someone who can use Trumpf software (Tru-tops or Boost) for Laser and Press Brake offline programming. The ability to program and trouble shoot Fanuc robots would be advantageous.

This position will be on a full time, permanent basis, working dayshift 37 hours per week.
