We're currently supporting a prestigious organisation in Redcar to appoint a Finance Officer on a permanent basis. As a Finance Officer, you will lead operational efforts and provide crucial support to Finance Managers and Accountants in driving financial decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the operational delivery of key aspects of the Accountancy Team's annual work programme, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
* Deputise for Finance, contributing to the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and performance management processes.
* Provide expert advice, analysis, and challenge on financial matters to inform effective decision-making across directorates.
* Support the preparation of the organisations budgets, financial statements, and medium-term financial plans, ensuring financial sustainability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
* Experience in public sector finance, including knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting systems (e.g., Agresso).
* Proven ability to solve complex financial problems and support medium-term financial planning.
* Strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and motivate stakeholders.
* Membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or equivalent qualification.
* Familiarity with changing financial legislation and initiatives impacting the public sector.
