Production Engineer

Production Engineer - Electronics
The Production Engineer will be reporting directly to the QA Manager, this role supports numerous daily functions, relating to process control and process engineering. Our client is seeking an experienced process/QA biased engineer from within the electronics sector. Deep knowledge of either the PCB or PCB assembly/CEM environment and a working knowledge of IPC-610 and/or JSTD-001 standards.
Key responsibilities of the Production Engineer
* Supporting the quality manager and working in conjunction with our production planning department to implement a range of build orders from NPI to series production
* Defining process flow and detailed work instructions, through to working with BOMs and associated drawings and data
* Interfacing with customers to support production functions
* Working with various technicians to define and set process parameters, conformance and best practices for electronic production from surface mount to finished assembly and test
* Evaluate and implement process improvements and tracking process changes
* Creating and reviewing documentation, such as FAIR report, FMEA’s & concessions
* Supporting the RMA process
* Internal process audits with objective reviews
* Reporting, monitoring and enhancing process performance against the company KPI’s
* Support the research and implementation of new manufacturing/process techniques, including capital equipment
Production Engineer Skills Required
* Experience in a quality related environment
* Pro-active nature
* Knowledge IPC Standards
* Experience of process flow, creating work instructions & relevant documentation
* Attention to detail, a finisher
* Organised and self-disciplined
* Able to communicate with staff, customers and suppliers
* Track critical tasks, working to defined timelines
* A desire to learn new competencies and skills
Advantageous skills
* Lean & 6-Sigma experience
* Familiar with TQM and continuous improvement environments
* Experience with AS9100 standards
Core hours
Mon-Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm.
Full time, with a degree of reciprocal flexibility is required.
