Production Expeditor

Due to company growth, my client, an leading international manufacturing business  based near Burton Upon Trent  are looking to recruit an Expeditor to join their existing team on a permanent basis. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials and information throughout the manufacturing process. This role will involve all aspects of coordinating with all departments within the business to expedite orders, provide timely updates to clients, and resolve any issues that may arise.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Interested candidates will have a demonstrable background working within a manufacturing environment with experience in expediting / progress chasing products on through production. Experience with Welding/ Fabrication / Machining would be advantageous but not essential. 

This position is based on days and available for an immediate start.

Hours - Mon - Thurs 0830 - 1700 / Friday 0830 - 15.30

Role Description

• Coordinate with production, procurement, and shipping departments to prioritize and expedite orders based on client requirements.
• Monitor production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on order status, including any delays or changes to delivery timelines.
• Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, providing solutions to any issues that may arise.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify potential bottlenecks or challenges in the manufacturing process and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of order status and client communications.

Skills & Attributes

• Demonstrable background in Expediting./ Progress Chasing in a similar role within an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment.
• Strong Communication skills- Both Written and Verbal 
• Experience working in a Welding/ Fabrication/ Machining environment (. Advantageous)
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
