Job description
We are seeking to strengthen our operation with the recruitment of two Production (Machine Operator) Trainees to ensure effective succession planning at Ardagh Glass Packaging, Irvine plant.
What will the role include:
You will receive a structured programme and a dedicated mentor with training in our Forming Department. You will also gain awareness in other areas, including Production Engineering, Mould Repair and with the Feeder Team.
The position is offered on an annual contract of 1686 hours per annum (37 hours per week Monday to Friday).
Please note, as part of the recruitment process, applicants for this position will be required to participate in a series of aptitude tests.
Required skills / qualifications:
Educated to National 5 Level – Grade C or above in Maths, Science and English.
Engineering qualification to NVQII (although not essential).
Excellent communication skills.
Personal drive.
Innovation and problem-solving ability.
Computer literate with good oral and written communication skills.
Awareness of relevant Health & Safety and Hygiene Regulations.
What we offer:
Salary based on Grade 5 of the harmonised pay scales (dayworkers). Minimum grade £28,631 p.a. to maximum grade £32,648 p.a.
