Blaymires Recruitment is representing a busy main contractor based near Hursley, Hampshire who is searching for an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join the business.

The company was founded in 2020 and has been awarded Chartered Building Company status, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

The business has been steadily growing and they have e a robust client base and have successfully undertaken projects across the Commercial, High-end Residential, Heritage, Leisure & Hospitality sectors with project values ranging from £300K to £1M.

With their workload increasing they are looking for a motivated Estimator / Surveyor who can price as well as manage the project costs through to final account.

This is an exciting time to join the company and work closely with the directors in assisting with the  growth of the business.

They will consider application from either Assistant or Intermediate level Estimator or Quantity Surveyor who is open to performing a dual role.

The Role 

• Responsible for pricing new enquiries and winning new contracts.
• Responsible for managing project costs, saving money where applicable.
• To keep a tight control of variations on site, record all variations, pricing them and accurately recording their effect on final accounts.
• Manage allocated projects, packages and subcontractors, calculation and preparation of all company valuations and assist with final accounts.
• Preparation and presentation of monthly job cost analysis data.
• Analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.
• Organise, order and manage subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management.
• Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.

The Person 

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a building Estimator or Quantity Surveyor.
• Must be able to price.
• HNC or Degree qualified.
• Good knowledge of JCT forms of contracts.
