Description
You have the opportunity to join a leading manufacturer committed to developing people and driving improvement in all areas of the business. As the Production Manager, you will be overseeing a manufacturing team with the support of your Shift Managers. You will be responsible for ensuring the operation runs efficiently; meeting the expectations & needs of customers, in the most cost effective way possible.
You will work closely with the senior management team, working collaboratively with the wider management team in order to deliver sustainable operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development & implementation of operating methods and procedures designed to reduce or eliminate operating problems and improve product cost, quality, delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
- Manage production team to ensure the best possible results are achieved, delegate and train to empower subordinates.
- Manage weekly production plans; ensure efficient use of labour to achieve maximum safe output.
- Identify improvements, preparation of Capex and justification to improve H&S and productivity. Supervising daily operations of the manufacturing plant.
- Liaise with Engineering to ensure that PPM & repairs are up to date and complete.
- Implementing strategies to increase productivity and performance.
- Ensure quality requirements and standards are communicated effectively and rigorously to the teams.
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to.
- Overseeing employee training and development.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Managing budgets and production costs.
- Liaising with other departments to optimise production processes.
Profile
The successful applicant will be a Production Manager with a fast paced manufacturing background and the following:
- An understanding of Lean and Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement techniques
- Strong knowledge of production processes and quality standards
- Strong HSE awareness
- The ability to coach and develop teams to deliver departmental targets (utilising KPI management and effective communication
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Offer
- Circa £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
