Job Description for Production Manager
To manage the production and delivery of high quality product on time, cost effectively and to the satisfaction of the customer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the production team
- Managing and optimising production scheduling process for new orders, RMA’s and Demo equipment.
- Kitting, receipting and shipping
- Quality – Certificates of Conformity and continuous improvement
- Manage the purchasing function and support the purchasing manager. - Find new suppliers - Negotiate contracts
- Ensure efficient and effective set up of production area considering health and safety, cost efficiencies, quality and needs of staff.
- Stock Management
- Respond to lead time requests from sales and review new sales orders - Update customer service department on any changes that affect agreed delivery dates as soon as changes occur, both improvements or delays.
- Present required management data at the Head of Team monthly meeting and work on continuous improvement. Flow back key information to production and purchasing team.
- Accountable for Health and Safety in the production area
- Hold production meetings
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- HNC in engineering or equivalent
- People management skills
- Creativity and Innovation – possessing passion for continuous improvement, spotting opportunities, sharing ideas with team and other colleagues.
- Deliver on Promises – demonstrate can-do attitude and overcome obstacles (letting others in your group see this) with sense of urgency about achieving team goals and the whole business.
- Collaboration and Communication – ability to develop relationships with colleagues outside your department built on mutual trust, respect and drive for sharing and success.
