Production Manager in Kingswinford-based SME
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (Depending on Experience)
General Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a background in production, specifically in PCB Electronics/Electrical assembly. A strong technical knowledge of wire harnesses and/or PCB assembly is essential. The role involves managing a team of 25 or more employees and requires regular communication with customers. This is a hands-on role, encompassing various aspects of production engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Create Production Plans: Develop detailed production plans to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Quotations: Prepare and provide accurate quotations for projects, considering cost factors and client requirements.
Customer & Supplier Liaison: Establish and maintain effective communication with customers and suppliers on a daily basis.
Review Holiday Requests: Manage and review holiday requests to ensure smooth workflow and adequate staffing levels.
Issuing Shop Orders: Generate and issue shop orders to the shop floor, detailing tasks and timelines.
Chasing Shortages: Collaborate with the purchasing team to address and resolve any shortages in materials.
General Discipline: Maintain discipline within the production team, addressing any issues promptly.
BOM Discrepancies: Work closely with Technical and Purchasing teams to resolve Bill of Materials (BOM) discrepancies.
Execute Production Plan: Oversee the execution of the production plan, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Issuing Shop Order Materials: Ensure timely issuance of required materials for shop orders.
Completing Shop Orders: Supervise the completion of shop orders, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Booking Out Shop Orders: Manage the documentation process, including the booking out of completed shop orders.
Delivery Notes: Prepare and manage delivery notes for dispatched products.
Monitor KPIs: Regularly monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve production efficiency.
Monitoring Margins and Efficiencies: Analyse and manage production margins and efficiencies to optimize performance.
Manage Preventative Maintenance: Oversee the scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance for production equipment.
Produce Production Material: Develop production materials such as drawings, cut lists, etc., as needed.
Hours of Work:
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday to Thursday)
8:00 AM - 1:30 PM (Friday)
Holidays:
21 days initially, rising by 1 day per year to a maximum of 25 days (negotiable).
