Main Scope and Purpose of the Role
To manage and ensure the effective performance of the finance function. To lead on all finance tasks including budgeting, planning, strategy, compliance, management, internal and external reporting, audit and all operational activity. Responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping
- Assisting the Executive Director with the preparation of quarterly financial statements
- Lead on annual audit
- Work with the Budget Holders on tracking their budgets
- Investigation and development of a robust finance and control processes
- Managing the weekly payment run and purchase and sales ledgers
- Preparing invoices and managing debtors
- Manage online payment platforms
- Running the weekly, monthly and year-end payroll
- Preparing and submitting the quarterly VAT Return
- Preparing ad-hoc financial reports for funders
- File Companies House and Charity Commission returns
- Lead on financial reporting for the Arts Council Annual Return
- Develop financial models for the organisation and potential new projects
- To be an active member of the Senior leadership team
- To be an advocate for the organisation, its work, vision and values
- To support clear communication with the wider team about the current and future financial priorities.
