Management Accountant - Ftc

We are recruiting for a Management Account, initially for a 6 month fixed term contract to be based in Birmingham. Reporting to the Senior Finance Business, as Management Accountant you will provide support to the Finance function during the implementation of a new ERP system, 2024 Statutory Audit, and Finance recurring monthly tasks

* You will be office based 2-3 days per week at our offices in Birmingham B6 7SS.

What you will be doing…

• Assist in the implementation of new ERP, ensuring data is transferred accurately. Go live August 2024
• Post implementation, ensure data has been transferred correctly, ensuring adequate back up for statutory audit 2025.
• Assist in first monthly and quarterly close on the new system.
• Assist with providing EY Audit team requested information for 2024 Audit.
• Provide Finance team support with Ad hoc and recurring tasks.

Compliance and Control:

• Ensure Balance Sheet accuracy with appropriate back up evidence.
• Month End reporting is accurate and within the deadlines for submission.
• Income statement entries are accurate with coded correctly.
• Review the accuracy of information carried in Operational and Financial systems.
• Submission to external parties HMRC etc are accurate and in line with the business performance.

Business Insight:

• Assist with production of the Monthly Management Reporting including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
• Assist with the development of Business Analysis and Benchmarking; to challenge the business to maximise profit margin.

To work within and help to develop the Finance Team that believe and demonstrate through their work that that they can use best practice to improve compliance/control and business insight through:

• Ensuring understanding and demonstrable implementation of the Values of Integrity; Vigilance and Helpfulness.
• Ensuring an environment where advice and support is provided to make the whole Finance Team successful. This includes ensuring knowledge and use of key systems, tools and policies; being included in regular appraisals and salary/incentive reviews; providing open feedback on any issues that makes the team more effective.
• Active steps to maintain communication; recognise achievement and develop the Securitas Community.

Essential Skills

• Newly qualified ACCA/CIMA or qualified.
• UK/ EU citizen or valid work permit. We are not able to provide sponsorship for this position.
• Experience in a similar role
• Experience of financial transaction processing and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships across the organisation
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Working towards accounting qualification.
• Working knowledge of Navision and or SAP would be an advantage
