Production Shift Manager - Plymouth

Up to £53,000 per annum dependent on experience - plus performance bonus of up to £5,000

2-10pm + 25% shift allowance

Acorn by Synergie is looking for an experienced Shift Manager to join their client's team in Plymouth. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the night shift, and lead efforts to increase quality, delivery and output targets.

You'll be responsible for the quality control of the manufacturing operations taking place on the shift. You'll also be expected to coach and mentor the night shift team, and ensure any necessary training is up to date. Being involved with the wider team, you'll share ideas on techniques of continuous improvement, and propose new ideas for cost reduction and quality output.

You'll be joining a busy manufacturing team in one of the most productive sites in Plymouth. This is a great opportunity for someone who is self-motivated, organised and has the ability to make decisions swiftly.

An ideal candidate will have significant experience leading a Shift in a manufacturing environment, and be an excellent communicator. You will be expected to deliver a strong customer service, manage the team in line with business requirements and to ensure safety protocols are met.

The crucial components for this role include:

* Ability to develop and maintain a positive attitude with a pro-active approach to management

* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify any problems

* Experience in managing output targets and monitoring progress

* Knowledge of QA/QC procedures/protocols

* Excellent organisational and communication skills

* Ability to motivate, coach and mentor the team

* A passion for continuous improvement
