Job Title: Senior Production Planner
Location: Redditch

- Salary: £38-£40k per annum
- Hours: Monday-Thursday 8.15am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.15am – 14.15pm
- Holidays: 25 days per annum (certain days reserved for Christmas shutdown)
- Pension: Eligible after 3 months of service
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Production Planner to efficiently plan and coordinate production activities, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and on-time delivery. This is a business-critical role, reporting to the Plant Manager, where you will provide timely and accurate information to assist in the control of materials and support the production plan.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain production schedules, prioritizing workload based on customer requirements, production capacity, and material availability.
- Coordinate with the Material Expeditor to ensure parts availability and adjust production schedules as needed.
- Communicate promised delivery dates to Customer Services.
- Maintain and develop existing tools for production scheduling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and quality assurance to streamline processes.
- Monitor daily production activities, analyze production data, and identify areas for improvement.
- Adjust production schedules to accommodate unforeseen events such as equipment breakdowns, material shortages, or changing customer demands.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process bottlenecks and recommending solutions.
- Perform administrative documentation.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in production planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in engineering.
- Understanding of CNC machine shop environments and niche processes.
- Thorough knowledge of production planning principles, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in production planning software, Excel, and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Keen attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing production requirements.
- Proactive mindset towards continuous improvement.
