Our client is a leading engineering design and manufacturing company. The company produces specialist machines for the food and automotive sectors with clients across the international market. Due to continued growth of the company, they are looking to recruit a Production Planner / Scheduler to ensure they meet the uplift in demand.
The successful candidate will work with all areas of the business, to forecast, plan and schedule the production process to ensure orders and delivery times are met.
A core part of the job will be working with the workshop supervisor and engineers, ensuring order times are met and delays communicated to senior managers and clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Control and management of the production schedule for all orders
- Management and logging of all deliveries, spare parts and components
- Adding new orders into the plan and prioritising key projects
- Monitoring longer term completion dates, reviewing with the Director
- Reviewing production hours, assessing actual hours taken against budget
- Stock assessment, management and identifying critical lead times
- All areas of administration linked to production workflows
- Supporting the engineering team to identify issues and concerns
- Liaising with suppliers, external stakeholders and senior management
- Producing reports to review methods and maximise productivity
Personal Qualities required for the role:
As an ideal candidate you will be an experienced Production Planner or manufacturing scheduler with an eye to detail and obsession for being organised:
- Proficient user of Excel and Microsoft office package
- Demonstrate an understanding of manufacturing and production Engineering
- Excellent communication and administration skills
- Have a pro-active approach to challenges and tasks
